Barbara Roberts

Mother and family lived in Acton Cottages no. 4
Interview: With cousin Lynn West, April 2011

"I'm Barbara Roberts and I live in Farrer, and I have memories of my mum Helen Dunshea living in no. 4 Acton Cottages, with her siblings Amy, Eric and Frank, and parents Ernest and Christina. My grandfather Ernest worked as a nightwatchman and as a gardener for George Weston. My mother went to school at Telopea Park, and when she had finished school she became a dressmaker. I used to play hockey on the Acton flats."

Barbara and her cousin Lynn came to the community sessions with their uncle Frank Dunshea.
